Is there any drink more refreshing than a glass of ice cold sangria in the summertime? If there is, I can’t think of one. I have had such a craving for it lately. Maybe it was this month’s issue of Everyday Food or Ree’s post about glass drink dispensers that brought it on.
Sangria has so many variations, it suits all tastes. Red or white? With or without brandy? Added soda or flat? Whatever your taste, if you have never made sangria or God forbid, never had it, go right now and grab a handful or fresh fruit (I used an orange, a granny smith and a plum). Chop it up, throw it in a pitcher, pour a bottle of wine (whatever your favorite may be) 1/4 cup of brandy and let it sit overnight. Serve the next day over ice with a splash of Sierra Mist (my favorite) and a slice of fresh fruit. Turn on some music and enjoy!
